SECTION 3):*~*: Craft Kits Make Great Gifts for Kids(and Adults!)
Don't have time to make it? Let them do it themselves!
Making your own craft kits is an inexpensive gift idea for Christmas or anytime. And, you are spreading the joy of crafting at the same time. The Internet is a wonderful resource for finding craft project instructions that can be turned into craft kits and given to loved ones.
To put together a craft kit, you will need a project instruction sheet, the necessary supplies for completing that project, and a basket or other container to present the gift. The Internet can provide you with printable project instructions or ideas for making your own, supplies can be purchased locally or online, and unique containers or baskets can be found at flea markets and yard sales.
Please note that if you print project instructions from the Internet, selling the completed craft kit would be against copyright laws. Using the information for gift giving or educational purposes is generally acceptable under fair use. But if, after reading a web site's terms and conditions, you have any questions about whether you are permitted to use the printables or other information to make a craft kit as a gift, just e-mail the site owner and ask for permission.
While there are many craft project ideas and printable worksheets in the 'Projects' category at CraftSiteDirectory.com, many of our other categories also contain project instructions. For example, see the 'Children' category to find craft projects for kids or visit the 'Christmas' category to find Christmas themed projects. When browsing the Craft Site Directory for project instructions look for web sites that have a papers icon next to their site title. The papers icon indicates that the web site contains how-to information.
Once you have printed or gathered information on how to complete the craft project and have gathered the supplies needed, you just need to package it. One option is to put everything in a nice basket, perhaps decorate the basket with ribbon and a bow, and present the craft kit as a gift basket. Another option is to just place everything into a container. You may even want to use a plain cardboard box then decorate the box with paint, fabric, or fancy paper.
That's it! You will have just created an inexpensive but thoughtful gift for your loved one!
