SECTION 2):*~*: Holiday Crafting
Plan ahead to get more accomplished this season.
This is a busy time of year for crafters. We've got Halloween costumes to make, decorations to hang, Thanksgiving centerpieces to create... It may be too early for most to start their Christmas planning, but for crafters who like to give homemade gifts and perhaps even make their own Christmas cards, now is the time to start planning. That is, if you haven't already!
In the card making section at CraftSiteDirectory.com, you can find lots of ideas for making your own Christmas cards. But, this can be a time-consuming process. If you normally send out your Christmas cards on December 1st, you've got about a month and a half to finish your cards. You will first want to figure out how many cards you'll be sending this year. This will tell you how many cards you need to make each day or each week. If possible, find a quiet corner in your home where you can set up your card making supplies. You'll be much more inclined to work on the cards if your supplies are handy. Keeping them in a portable container is another option. This way, each day when you sit down to watch the evening news, you can bring along your card making supplies and work on a card or two.
Making instead of buying Christmas gifts can save you a good bit of money. Keep this in mind as a great motivator for getting started and finished with your projects. If you're like many crafters, you've already got many half finished projects in your closet. Consider pulling those out and finishing them up to give as gifts.
In the Craft Site Directory you can find many additional ideas for making your own Christmas gifts. For example, in our candles category you can learn how to make your own melt and pour candles. It's quick and easy. Then, start scouring flea markets and yard sales for unique containers and you've got great handmade gifts for all the candle lovers on your list.
Start collecting ideas now for easy homemade gifts. Keep your idea list handy and set aside time each day, or each weekend, for crafting. Before you know it, you'll have created homemade gifts for everyone on your list and will be done with your Christmas shopping before you have even gotten started!
