SECTION 4):*~*: March is National Craft Month
US residents and visitors can plan ahead to attend local arts and crafts events.

National Craft Month is sponsored by the the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA). Celebrations will begin in retail craft stores throughout the US starting March 1st and building up to the main event, "A Kid's Craft Day", on March 25th. The goal of the one day event will be to introduce kids and families to the joys of crafting.

For more information about National Craft Month, visit http://www.i-craft.com/eventscontests.html. Click on "Store Locator" to find CHA member stores in your area. Call or stop by to find out what types of activities they have planned for the month of March. Retail stores, such as Michaels and Ben Franklin, will be hosting demonstrations, classes, and projects aimed at getting customers involved.

Teachers can celebrate National Craft Month with classroom projects. At http://www.kinderart.com/ you can find art lesson plans and craft projects for kids of all ages. This website is also useful for parents who are looking for fun projects they can complete with their children.

Another way to celebrate is by simply spending more time crafting in March. Perhaps plan ahead for some spring decorating craft projects or make it a goal to learn a new crafting technique next month. If you make sure you have the needed supplies ahead of time, you'll be more likely to finish the projects. Below are some sites to visit for ideas and inspiration.

At Michaels.com you can find project ideas in a variety of categories. After selecting the category you would like to visit, in the right hand margin you will see links to various projects, tips and instructions on that topic.
