SECTION 3):*~*: Arts and Crafts New Year's Resolutions
Setting arts and crafts goals for 2006.
Crafting is a great way to relax and relieve stress, which can benefit your overall health. So, when setting goals for the new year, don't forget about your arts and crafts goals.
Perhaps Christmas rolled around this year much more quickly than you had expected and you didn't have a chance to finish the handmade gifts you had planned to give out. Avoid this next year by setting out your goals now. List items you want to make as gifts and get started on them early in the year.
Arts and crafts can be a great way to update your home decor in the new year. Choose a few projects you want to work on and write them down; new throw pillows for the couch, no-sew window treatments, cross stitch a new wall hanging, try out a rug hooking project...
Make it a goal to learn something new. There is plenty of instructional information available online for various arts and crafts techniques. Take advantage of this! Visit a few Craft Site Directory categories that you are unfamiliar with. Sit down one evening when you have a little extra time and leisurely explore these sites. If you come across something that looks interesting, make it a goal to try it out.
Check out these categories to possibly find a new craft you would be interested in learning more about. These techniques require no specialty equipment, just a few inexpensive supplies to get started. Look for sites with a papers icon to find how-to information. Supplies can be purchased locally or from sites with a thread icon.
If you have lots of photos stored in boxes, getting started scrapbooking would be an ideal goal for 2006:

If you already have a sewing machine, but seldom use it, you may want to dust it off and relax with a quilting project. Start slow with a few throw pillows if creating an entire quilt seems like a daunting task:
