SECTION 3):*~*: Decorating Flower Vases for Spring
The Craft & Hobby Association offers ideas on turning old flower vases into something fresh and new.

Spring is the perfect time to get creative and freshen things up. And nothing says Spring quite like flowers. Decorating your vases can be an ideal way to end those winter blues and spring into originality. Jazz up your home and add a touch of sunshine by finding new ways to spruce up your bouquet and bud vases.

"Spring is the season of new starts so why not take something old and make it new again?" stated Terri Ouellette, National Spokesperson for the Craft & Hobby Association. "All it takes is a little inspiration."

Listed below are some simple suggestions from the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) on how to get crafty with your plain vases:
• Decoupage tissue paper to your vase for a new eclectic look.
• Use a simple crackling solution to make a vase look "antique."
• Wrap or glue a piece of fabric with a cheerful pattern around the outside, or use thin strips of Velcro to enable the pattern to be changed with the season or your decor.
• Decorate your vase with strings of ribbons and/or beads to give it a little springtime sparkle.
• Fill your vase with pretty colored shells and sand to remind yourself of the sunny warm days to come.
• Add some ambiance by filling a vase with a strand of Christmas lights and your favorite smelling potpourri.
• Smaller vases can be transformed into homemade candle holders using a simple kit from your local craft store, or simply add your favorite scented votive candle surrounded by pretty stones to match your decor.
• Jazz up any bouquet of fresh, dried, or silk flowers by adding colorful buttons, stones, beads or crystals into the bottom of the vase.
• Fill a vase with bath-oil-beads or bath salts and close it by tying a doily with ribbon around the top for a "pick me up" gift.
